Image Maps in Photoshop

I use Photoshop everyday for various things, but until you need to do something different, you never learn anything. Found this useful, concise tutorial for creating html content quickly in Photoshop. I was using this for an online magazine based advert - watch?v=XGhUjBKC_ac

MLearn2011 in Beijing

I attended MLearn2011 in Beijing, although I have never attended an MLearn event – I had followed previous conferences and always had a scan over the proceedings for relevant papers for my research. As a host city, Beijing was amazing to see (and China as a country – as I have never been anywhere East or within Asia before.) I met some interesting people, both delegates at the event and locals in China. It shows how something  (Mobile Learning) which to many seems quite a specific subject can have a plethora of strands, perspectives and views. Although, I’m still fresh in my research, I find the distinction of people between the ‘technology’ and ‘learning’ is still pretty obvious. I guess my research interests normally...

Rooting a Commitiva N700 or Viewsonic tablet

How to Root Commitiva N700 or Viewsonic Tablets If I find the solution to something, I would rather pass it on than have others waste yet more time.. Had the tablet for a while now, and I wanted to take some screenshots of development work I’ve been doing. But unfortunately, these screenshots need to be taken when out and about testing the GPS and accelerometer. Therefore using the SDK based / unrooted version was no use to me. I tried the XDA SuperClick version, but it never seemed to get past sorting the adb.. Using the GingerBreak.apk – it rooted the tablet instantly without a problem. It takes around 30 seconds then restarts itself. From here, I can use any screenshot application from the marketplace. As you can see below, works...

Where I have been..

Apart from enjoying the obvious weather, I also attended workshops and seminars for the week which aimed to bridge the gap between...

Back from CAL11

Typing one handed lately, which means my sentences are somewhat stifled, so apologies for that… But, I sat through quite a few presentations at CAL 11. What I think was quite apparent was that there were two factions present. The Computer side and the learning side. Creating successful hybrids of the two will ultimately depend upon the integration of the two disciplines. But, on a lighter note I liked the ‘Magic Cushion!’. http://portal.lsri.nottingham.ac.uk/SiteDirectory/makingstuff/default.aspx L.
